X Coin is a Ravencoin-descended UTXO chain — Ravencoin itself is a Bitcoin-descended UTXO chain. No mining. Every minute the baked seed runs a lottery among signed-in X Verified nodes. Any X account can claim one free root tied to their handle.

1. Download the wallet

Get the free X Coin Wallet for Windows or Linux below. Open it and write down your 12 backup words.

2. Sign in with X

Sign in with your X account in the wallet and claim your free name. Then people can send to your @handle.

3. Receive and send

Share your address or @handle to get XFER. Send XFER or tokens to any address or @handle. Each send pays a small network fee in XFER.

Real-world assets (RWA)

Give a physical item, a document or a project its own named asset on the chain. Attach a picture and a description file, and anyone can look it up in the explorer.

NFTs

Make a one-of-one item under your name, like NAME#ITEM. There is only one, and you can send it to an address or an @handle.

Token launch

Create a new token, or list one you already hold, on Launch. You set the starting price and sign every trade in your own wallet. Creating or listing under the platform name costs 100 XFER. Under your own X name it costs 10 XFER. Each trade pays 0.60% to the platform and 0.30% to the creator. The lowest starting price is 0.0000001 XFER.

More nodes, more decentralized

New blocks come about once a minute from a drawing among signed-in X Verified desktop nodes. Each node that joins widens that drawing.

A token on XFER is a record on the chain. By itself it does not give legal ownership of a physical asset. Nothing here is an offer or investment advice. Read the assets guide and the Launch guide.

Desktop wallet

Download the app

Get the latest release. The current wallet is Heavy 1.0.27, and it is free. Download it, extract it, open X Coin Wallet, and sign in with X. With an X Verified account, leave it open to take part in the one-minute drawing. Do not use GitHub’s Code → Download ZIP. Older desktop wallets (Light and pre-1.0.27) are no longer supported for running a node.

You can claim a name right in the browser web wallet with Sign in with X, no download needed. Heavy is only for running a node, which is what enters the lottery draw.

If your blue check is still pending on X, your node stays out of the draw until it clears. Claiming a name does not need a blue check.

No Mac build yet. On a Mac or a phone, use the web wallet: you can claim your name, send and receive there. Heavy runs on Windows and Linux.

    Pick the Windows zip or the Linux tar.gz below. You can check the file with the SHA256 on its card.

    Extract

    Windows: right-click the zip and choose Extract All. Linux: extract the tar.gz. Open the new folder.

    Run

    Open X Coin Wallet. Make or restore your 12 words. Sign in with X. Keep it open.

Heavy

Heavy 1.0.27 has the wallet, Market, and the asset tree. Your share of lottery wins shows under Rewards. Only the desktop app, signed in with X Verified and left open, enters the one-minute drawing. This website does not.

  1. Click the Windows file below. Do not use GitHub’s Code → Download ZIP.
  2. When the zip finishes, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  3. Open the folder and double-click X Coin Wallet.
  4. Create or restore your 12 words, then sign in with X. Leave the app open.

Linux is the other card: extract the tar.gz and open X Coin Wallet. This page does not ship a Mac build.

Some antivirus tools may flag new unsigned wallet builds. Run the command in the folder with the zip and check that the hash matches the card. For a program after Extract All, run it on that file, for example certutil -hashfile xcoin-qt.exe SHA256, and compare it with the list on the card.

Download help

  • Windows SmartScreen may say it protected your PC. Click More info, then Run anyway.
  • Right-click the zip and choose Extract All first. Running X Coin Wallet from inside the zip does not work.
  • Work or school PCs may block downloads or new programs. If it is blocked, ask your IT team or use a personal PC.
