Blocks

A block is one page of the ledger. It has a height, a hash, the previous block, a slot, and its transactions. About one block is made per minute. The first transaction pays the lottery.

Step by step

  1. 1. Open Blocks or paste a height into the explorer search.

  2. 2. Read the height (0 is the genesis block and pays nothing), the time, the hash, and the previous hash.

  3. 3. The slot is the minute that height belongs to. One height, one slot, one payout.

  4. 4. Open the first transaction. That is the lottery payout: the winner and the amount. Later transactions are payments and asset moves.

  5. 5. Words for the live draw are on The lottery.

Example

Example: Height 1 versus height 0

Example, using the chain rules rather than a live height: height 0 is the genesis block and pays nothing. Height 1 is the first block that can pay the starting reward. When you open height 1 you should see a slot, a winner, and the payout in the first transaction. A later height follows the same shape.

Common mistakes

  • Treating the countdown on the lottery page as a block. It is only a clock.

  • Expecting every transaction in the block to be a lottery win. Only the first pays the draw.

  • Searching a hash with a space or a shortened id. Paste the full hash, or use the height.

FAQ

At most one per minute. If the chain falls behind, it catches up one block per minute. It does not burst.

No. One height, one slot, one payout.
Where is the winner list?
