X Coin
Wallets
Heavy is the desktop app. The web wallet lives in this browser. Both use the same 12 words and the same chain. Only the desktop app can enter the minute draw.
Step by step
1. On the home page, open the download section (Download the app). Use the Windows zip or the Linux tarball. This site does not ship a Mac build. Do not use a source-code zip.
2. Windows: when the zip finishes, right-click it and choose Extract All, then open X Coin Wallet. Linux: extract the tar.gz and open X Coin Wallet.
3. Heavy is 1.0.27. It adds a tree menu, Market, and Rewards, where lottery share lives. It enters the draw when the app is open and the account is X Verified. Checksums are on the home page cards. The release index is the latest release. Claiming a name needs Heavy 1.0.27 and Sign in with X. Light and older wallets are no longer supported. Heavy is 1.0.27. 4. Create a wallet, or restore one. Write the 12 words on paper. The password only locks those words on this device. It is not a second backup.
5. Sign in with X inside the desktop app and leave it open. A heartbeat goes out about every 30 seconds. A node counts as active if one arrived in the last 180 seconds.
6. The same 12 words restore the web wallet: Web wallet, then Restore, words in order, password of at least 8 characters. Details: Your wallet.
Example
Example: One backup, three apps
Example: you create a wallet in Heavy and write down the 12 words. Later you type those same words into the web wallet on a phone. The addresses match. The phone can send. It does not enter the draw, because the web wallet has no heartbeat. Heavy, left open and signed in with an X Verified account, does.
Common mistakes
Leaving the only copy of the 12 words inside the app. A new phone does not have them until you type them in. Nobody else can recreate them.
Thinking the password is a backup. It only encrypts the words on that device.
Opening the web wallet and expecting a lottery ticket. The draw is desktop-only.
Downloading a source archive instead of the release zip or tarball, then wondering why X Coin Wallet is not inside.
FAQ
- Which desktop wallet?
- Heavy 1.0.27 is the only desktop wallet offered. Heavy has the tree, Market, and Rewards → Lottery share. Claiming a name needs Heavy 1.0.27 and Sign in with X. Light and older wallets are no longer supported.
- Where is the backup?
- The 12 words, written down, in order. Store them offline. Do not put them in a token description file, a chat, or a screenshot you share.
- Can I restore into both?
- Yes. Your wallet and the desktop apps accept the same words. The desktop app walks your addresses the same way the web restore does.
