Burned figure
The Burned figure on a listing is how many of that asset were sent to an unspendable address. Burned tokens were sent to an unspendable address and can never move again. It sits beside Supply. It is not the XFER network fee and not the XFER create burn.
Step by step
1. Open a listing and find Burned next to Supply.
2. The compact number uses K, M, B, or T from 10,000 up. A tiny positive amount stays exact so it does not print as 0.
3. The percent is burned tokens divided by the supply shown beside them. Under 0.01% prints as <0.01%.
4. The ? control next to Burned shows the exact amount with thousands separators. Hover or tap it.
5. XFER burned to create assets is a different number. It is on Supply and Fees and burn addresses.
Example
Example: Compact burned amount (example)
Example numbers: supply 1,000,000 tokens and 12,500 burned. The figure shows 12.5K and 1.25%. The ? control still shows 12,500. An example of 50 burned out of 1B is under 0.01%, so the percent prints as <0.01% while the ? control keeps the exact 50.
Common mistakes
Reading Burned as XFER you can claim. Those tokens cannot move.
Comparing Burned on the listing with the chain's XFER burn total. One is this asset. The other is the coin.
Ignoring the ? control when you need the exact digits. The compact form rounds the way the rest of Launch does.
FAQ
- Why is Burned sometimes a dash?
- The figure is unknown until the burn addresses have been read. A known zero prints as 0.
- Does burning tokens change the XFER reserve?
- No. This figure counts the asset, not the XFER that backs the curve.
- Who can burn on purpose?
- A holder can send the asset to the global burn address. That send is final.
