Make a token

A token is something you can name, hold, and send.

  1. 1. Sign in with X and claim your name.

  2. 2. Tap Create on the assets page, or Assets in the wallet.

  3. 3. Pick a name.

  4. 4. Add a short description and a picture.

  5. 5. Save the file, then create the token.

Build the file on Create assets. 10 free pins a day. After that, 5 XFER each.

Names and costs

A slash means a token under your name, like NAME/PROJECT. Making one costs 100 XFER.

A # means one item, like NAME#ITEM. Making one costs 5 XFER. There is only one.

A token that ends in ! is the admin token for that name.

Units are decimal places, from 0 to 8. Reissuable means more can be made later. Launch turns that off.

Your name can be at most 32 characters. The full token name can be at most 33 characters.

IPFS is the place that stores the picture and the description file. The chain keeps a short id for that file. On the chain that id starts with Qm and is 46 characters.

The description file can include name, description, image, a normal web link, and a list of traits.

Use image_url for the picture. image works too. Use website_url or external_url for a normal http or https link.

A trait looks like trait_type and value. Example: Color and Gold.

Type is Token, NFT, or Real-world asset. A unique item starts as NFT. Anything else starts as Token. You can change it.

Do not put the 12 words, a password, or a private key in that file.
